Heat treatment 

Heat treatment relaxes and soothes the muscles, increases circulation, reduces stiffness and relieves pain. The warmth generated dilates the blood vessels of the chronic areas. This increases blood flow and helps to re-oxygenate and relax the muscles and ligaments. In the treatment of muscle and ligament injuries, heat is normally applied during the repair stage of the injury. Also, when applied to tight muscles, heat helps to relax the muscle which prevents injury.

Cold Therapy

This reduces the risk of injury after heavy exercise such as eventing, showjumping, racing or hunting. Cold treatment brings rapid relief from the pain, bruising and swelling of recent tissue damage. Treatment should start as soon as possible after the injury and applying ‘cold’ will decrease the blood flow and reduce the inflammation.

Magnetic Therapy

The use of magnets to relieve pain has been practised for over 2000 years. Now, with the benefits of modern materials and technology, magnets can be made very small, unobtrusive and powerful – ideal for animal therapy.

Studies have shown that this natural, non-invasive therapy relieves pain and helps promote the body’s natural healing process by improving blood flow, and therefore oxygen, to injured areas. Magnetic therapy is a complementary way to enhance the relief of pain. The magnets themselves do not heal – they create an environment in the body that helps speed up the natural healing process by removing inflammation and restoring circulation. It is believed this is achieved when the blood stream and nerves are stimulated as the blood passes through the magnetic field.

PEMF - Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy

A great deal of research has taken place into the effect of magnetic fields on living tissue and it is known cells of different tissue respond to different frequencies. Therefore for the therapy to be really effective it is necessary to stimulate the many different cells and structures for the body to accelerate its own repair/healing process.

The pulses of low energy magnetic fields carry the oscillations developed by the electronic generators giving varying frequencies and harmonics, thus providing a balanced therapeutic range of frequencies transmitted and received by the brain and nervous system which are responsible for triggering the repair of cells and tissue.

Acu-light Therapy                                 

Acu-light Therapy improves and stimulates blood circulation using a completely natural method . . . a light beam. 

Acu-light Therapy is a conscious move towards a natural method of healing by stimulating cells with single-wavelength pure monochromatic (one colour) L.E.D Light. If more than one wavelength is present, cell tissue does not respond.

Some wavelengths have an excellent therapeutic effect on cell tissue. The most effective wavelength, 660 nm, is the closest to the resonant frequency of healthy cells. Red is the colour that activates the circulation of the blood and it stimulates the overall energy levels of the metabolism and lower extremities.
