2008 was a huge year for Sonja Johnson who joined the Australian team to win a Silver Medal in the Beijing Olympic Games. Sonja has been a consistent performer for many years, in addition to the Olympics, Sonja was named Australian Event Rider of the Year in both 1996 and 2003, and was also the non-travelling reserve rider for the 1996 Olympic Games and was listed for the 2000 and 2004 Olympics.

Sonja continues to perform at the highest level of eventing with a team of quality horses and has her sights firmly set on Kentucky 2010 and London 2012. Sonja has relied on the Activo Med Combi Plus system for years and it featured heavily in Ringwald Jaguar’s regime in the lead up to the Beijing Olympics.

“Living in what can only be described as an isolated situation in terms of having access to therapeutic help with my horses I have needed to find alternative methods for providing muscular support to the horses. I love the fact you can just put it on and go away. This way as I work one it is working on the next. I also like the fact it treats the whole horse in one go not just a specific area.”

“I am sure my Activo Med rug has assisted to keep Jaguar at the ripe old age of 18 in the very best of shape.”

Sonja has also recently discovered the benefits of the Mounty Cool+Press boots in rehabilitating her horses following the rigours of an event.

“One of the most important things to me in helping keep my horse sound is to ensure that after any gallop, jumping or just genuinely tough work my horses legs are cooled quickly, easily and thoroughly. The Mounty Cool+Press Boots are to me a fabulous system to achieve this. It is well known in human medicine that pressure applied with cold is the most effective way to help prevent bruising and reduce swelling. I can really recommend them to anyone who is after the best system of combined cold and pressure available in Australia.”
